“一切為了學生,為了學生一切,為了一切學生”這是對我們所進行的教育———素質教育的高度定位。它是面向全體學生的教育,它要求要使全體學生得到全面的發展。英語教育是素質教育的重要組成部分,而在英語教學中能否成功地開展英語學困生的轉化教育活動,能否成功地教育和轉化英語學困生,對體現英語教學中的素質教育精神具有重要意義。因此我們英語教育工作者必須努力地解決好“如何有效地轉化英語學困生”這一難題,使他們得到最快的提高和最充分的發展。本人根據近15年從事英語教育的體會,就如何對英語學困生進行轉化做以下一些探討,不對之處敬請批評指正!

一、切合實際,科學分析,依據分層,對癥下“藥”

根據智力因素系統和非智力因素系統兩者關系,我把英語學困生大致分為“高智商學困生”、“偏學科學困生”、“低智商學困生”三個層次。要有效的轉化他們,必須確診“病因”,然后對癥下“藥”。

對于高智商學困生,這類學生腦子靈,反應快,稍微懂了就不愿聽,注意力很難集中,他們好勝心強,愛動、貪玩,學習無恒心、無毅力。我們要想辦法把他們的精力聚到英語學習這個焦點上,可舉行英語書法、單詞默寫等比賽來激起他們對英語學習的興趣。

偏學科學困生中以女生為最多,她們愛面子,羞于發問,學習上死記硬背,靈活運用少。我們可通過觀察、談心,促使她們改進學習方法。讓她們擔任英語學習小組長,不斷提高信心,以促進他們英語學習。

低智商學困生雖然比例最少,但他們大都認為自己樣樣不行,自卑心理沉重。我們可采取感情傾斜的方法,善于發現他們身上的閃光點,采取賞識教育法及時給予鼓勵,增強他們自信心,敢于向困難挑戰。

課堂教學仍是對學生進行素質教育的主陣地,在同一節課內要有面向全體的“合”的步驟,又有照顧各層次“分”的環節。根據美國教育家、心理學家布盧姆的教育分類理論,在知識、理解、分析、綜合等各層次上都有相應題目。簡單的問題有意識地先請學困生回答,給學困生多一點表現“自我”的空間以及獲得表揚的機會,使他們盡量多地享受成功的快樂。心理學實驗證明:一個人一旦體驗成功的歡樂和欣慰,便會激起他無止境追求成功的勇氣與力量。

二、寄予期望,增其信心,真情所至,金石為開。

希望能給人生活的信心與勇氣。為學困生構造成功的因素,幫助學困生樹立成功的信心非常重要。福斯特說過:“自信成功的人,已經成功了一半”。成功總是和信心聯系在一起的。正如陶行知老先生說:“你的教鞭下有瓦特,你的冷眼中有牛頓,你的譏諷中有愛迪生。”心理學家發現:如果學生生活在敵視和譏諷中,他會好斗或搗蛋,如果學生生活在受歡迎的環境中,他會鐘愛他人,積極向上。針對大多數學困生在心理上都有一定的壓抑感、自卑感,不敢主動接近老師,但又希望得到教師的幫助的情況,我們一定要重視情感教育在教學中的特殊作用,突出學生的主體地位,以設身處地的立場去體會他們的心境與他們進行情感交流,誠懇相待,寄予期望,增其信心,鼓勵他們學好英語,通過輕松活潑的語言,親切的面容激發他們學習英語的自信心,讓他們喜歡英語課,同時喜歡上自己的英語老師。古人云:“親其師,信其道”。讓學生覺得我們英語教師可

親、可敬、可愛,是他們的真正良師益友,從而使他們對英語熱情起來。根據羅森塔爾的“期望效應”理論,我們對學困生寄予信賴和期望,學生會在心理上產生一種積極向上,不負眾望的回報效應。在英語教學過程中,多對學困生以鼓勵、理解和肯定,你會收到意想不到的驚喜。智力與情感有著密切的關系,理智能幫助調節情感,良好的情感也能促進智慧的發揮。學生在學習英語過程中難免會遇到困難、失敗,教師要善于通過常規的教學來觀察學生的心理變化,努力從心理健康角度去調節學困生的學習心理,及時幫助他們克服學習中的困難,實現從失敗到成功的跨越。

三、培養興趣,增強動力,激起奮進,逐步提高

愛因斯坦說過:“興趣是最好的老師,如果把學生的熱情激發出來,那么學校所規定的功課就會被當作一種禮物來接受。”心理學認為:興趣是學習動機中最活躍、最現實的成分之一。英語學困生除了學習習慣差外,往往對英語沒有產生濃厚的興趣,因此,興趣的培養,對轉化學困生尤其重要。

為了有效地激勵學生的學習,必須從兩方面努力,一是培養學生的學習需要和興趣,二是給學生提供一定的誘因條件。英語是一門以語言為主要研究對象的學科,所有英語教育活動中最吸引學生、最易讓學生產生興趣的就是語言交流。因此只要學生有要求,就給他們提供交流的時間和場所,以鼓勵學生不斷探索,增強他們學習英語的“向心力”和“凝聚力”。課堂上舉例時盡量選用貼近日常生活的事例,以縮短英語與日常生活的距離,使學生產生興趣。完型填空,閱讀理解多選些故事性、趣味性的題材。課堂教學多采用生動有趣的簡筆畫、幽默的英語故事、可以借助實物、圖像、難忘的圖片、動作、體態語等直觀教學手段使課堂生“趣”,有些知識點盡可能用有趣的口訣來幫助他們記憶。比如:在名詞復數的變法當中,其中一條是:以“f”或“fe”結尾的可數名詞單數變復數把“f”或“fe”變成“ves”我是編一首小詩來幫助同學們記憶的,在此冒昧提出:賊(thief)讓妻子(wife)去打狼(wolf),自己(-self)拿刀(knife)架(shelf)上躺,風吹樹葉(leaf)落一半(half),一命(life)嗚呼見閻王。再如把基數詞變序數詞,我用一句順口溜來幫助他們掌握的:基變序,有規律,詞尾加上th,一二三,特殊記,結尾字母t,d,d,八減t,九減e,f要把ve替,ty把y變為i,th前面有個e.記住了這個口訣,基數詞變成序數詞的問題就迎刃而解。

以此來誘導、激發學生學習英語的興趣。實踐證明,將那些注意力不穩定、習慣差的學生的興趣激發到最佳狀態,使之精力集中,以愉快的情緒自覺的投入有趣、有用的英語學習中去,必然會收到事半功倍的效果。

五、定期交流,及時反饋,堅持面批,反復提升

為了持之以恒地有效地轉化英語學困生,與他們定期交流顯的非常必要。在交流中我們懂得他們的思想狀況,在交流中我們懂得他們的英語學習進展情況,在交流中我們懂得他們在英語學習中遇到哪些困難以便及時解決,同時在交流中我們促進了彼此友誼的發展。許多實驗研究結果表明:為了有效的促進學習,反饋應該是及時的、充分的。及時反饋給學生留下的印象最深,可以使學生及時地糾正學習中的錯誤,防止錯誤認識鞏固下來,所以在批作業和試卷時做到及時、準確,特別對學困生作業堅持面批,效果更為顯著。針對作業中所反映出的問題讓他們進行反復的“還原”練習。要求他們再復習,進一步熟悉和理解所學內容之后再做作業。這種有的放矢的訓練,使學困生的英語成績會有明顯提高。

六、家校配合,形成合力,積極引導,樹好觀念

上述都是從學校的角度去講的,而完美的教育精品是學校和家庭共同努力打造出來的。所以學校和家庭需緊密配合,形成轉化“學困生”的強大合力。“父母是孩子的第一任老師”,這說明家長、家教在孩子成長過程中的重要作用。大多數家長只關心孩子是成績,他們的情緒波動和起伏直接受控于孩子的的考試分數。當孩子的考試成績優異時他們喜形于色,對孩子寵愛有加;可孩子受到環境的不良熏陶或幾次考試未能達到他的期望值時,他們便會急噪、懊惱,對孩子抱怨甚至粗暴地打罵。這些學生經歷過多次挫折后,進取的信心和學習的動力逐漸消失殆盡,逐漸淪為學困生。因此教師應及時了解受挫學生是家庭環境,和家長建立聯系,實現有效的溝通,指導和幫助家長對孩子實行多方面、多角度的評價,從樹家長對孩子的信心,使孩子快速趕追上去。社會上的一些不良觀念和不良現象無時無刻不在影響著孩子,學校和家長及時取得聯系,加深對孩子的了解,掌握他們課內外的生活內容和動向,對他們及時矯正、引導和監督,幫助他們盡快樹立遠大的理想和正確的人生觀、世界觀、價值觀。
